Bachelors / Masters Thesis: Fusion between global UWB localization and vehicle based self-localization

Introduction
The Ultra-wide-band (UWB) Technology allows the absolute localization in complex industrial environments. This allows the localization and tracking of persons, vehicles or arbitrary assets.
In this work, use cases for combining the UWB technology with the self-localization of an autonomous vehicle are investigated. For this, the different aspects of both localization methods are formulated and the performance of a fused localization approach is analysed.
In addition, various use-cases are elaborated and checked for feasibility.
As a result of the work selected use-cases are demonstrated in both simulation and on the shop floor, the implementation is done in Python or C++ using the ROS-Framework.

How would I help?

Lead the team of engineers, take point and an extreme level of ownership of your responsibilities. Identify, design, and collaborate on new approaches, enhancements, or features that provide value to clients and the livestock they care for. Be able to say that good is good enough and when good enough needs to be best as it relates to hardware and software in a large-scale production environment.

Contract developer for Rosbridge @ Foxglove

tl;dr; Foxglove is looking for a contract developer interested in improving Rosbridge for the entire ROS ecosystem.

Rosbridge facilitates building applications which talk to a ROS robot but are not part of the entire ROS graph; it is a widely used component in the ROS ecosystem. For Foxglove, Rosbridge is a popular connection option for users wanting to connect to their ROS system without the gotchas of multi-host ROS robots.

We’ve been active in the ROS WebTools working group for some time, and while we’ve been able to commit some engineer time towards Rosbridge development, it’s become clear to us and the group that more active development for the ROS1 and ROS2 versions of Rosbridge would benefit not only Foxglove but also the larger ROS community.

In the spirit of our mission to accelerate robotics development, we’d like to hire a contract developer interested in tackling enhancements to Rosbridge which we believe will benefit the entire community.

Our Technology

We currently have three products, with more in development.

V-surface is a fully autonomous UV disinfection robot intended to rapidly disinfect surfaces in hospitals and other healthcare settings. Our peer-reviewed research has shown that it can decontaminate hospital rooms to a higher standard, using less than 10% of the resources, and 4X faster than current industry standard approaches.

V-air is a fully autonomous UV disinfection robot that disinfects the air in poorly ventilated rooms and buildings. It’s advanced AI and patent-pending design make it the gold-standard in mobile air-disinfection.

Akara Tasker is a smartphone app that allows cleaners to log cleaning tasks in real-time, avoiding the need for paperwork. Data collected through the app is accessible by supervisors in real-time and backend automation virtually eliminates the need for back office administration.

Working Students / Interns for Robotics Engineering (Greater Munich Region Germany)

Dahlia Robotics’ vision is to remove the need for herbicides in agriculture and make organic food production the standard.

To achieve this, we build farming robots which autonomously take care of tedious tasks like weeding. Our robots automatically recognize crops and weeds on the field through computer vision and machine learning techniques and remove the weeds through mechanical tools.

NeoFarm designs, builds and operates agro-ecological micro-farms in France.
